Walkabout Outfitters, Blacksburg, provided more assistance than all total of the last four sporting goods shops I tried. They obviously know the merchandise. They answered all my questions and went above and beyond providing me with expert advice and assistance. It was well worth the long drive to finally buy a pair of hiking boots I feel good about. Brandon, Frances, and Sky were tremendous I had a problem with a stuck pin on a trekking pole that I didn't even buy at their store (had purchased it through Amazon online). The three of them dropped everything they were doing and for 15 minutes helped figure out a way to get the problem solved! That's what I call being service oriented and going the extra mile.. Will definitely be telling others about my experience and be buying my next set of hiking shoes from them! On a scale of 0-5, give em a 6!

I love this local family-owned business. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. The store has a great selection of clothing and gear. I've always been able to find exactly what I want.
