What they are doing here is really important and for future generations, for the keiki~ I can’t wait to see how they grow in 5,10,15 years… A beautiful lunch. I couldn’t eat some incredible looking dishes since they had dairy in them. Maybe coco oil or avocado oil would be more inclusive and healthy! I hope down the road, they can go a little more in depth and spend more time with the material they are sharing! Good intro tho to people that don’t have any exposure to such knowledge. Mahalo!
We had an awesome experience on the tour here! Our kids (5 and 7) loved feeding the pigs, helping prepare the taro, and riding around in the vehicles. The adults loved learning more about the local Hawaiian culture and history, and learning about how everything works on the farm. The day was capped by a wonderful and unique lunch full of yummy fruits and vegetables grown on the property with delicious and unique sauces as well as amazing poi cheesecake. Outstanding experience. We did the farm and food tour with our whole family, from young kids to grandparents. Loved learning about the plants, history, culture, and community of Waipo and Kauai. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a deeper connection to this land.
I would highly recommend the Waipa Foundation Food and Farm Tour happening on Tuesdays. It was a delightful and informative 3 hours filled with impressive work that the Foundation is doing to inspire people to care for the land which feeds us. The bonus lunch was absolutely delicious. I'm proud of what they are doing for the community and would love more people to support them. It's not your average tourist tour. But, for people who care, it's perfect.
We did a lot of tours and excursions on the island and this one was our favorite. Kelsey was an amazing host and very knowledgeable about the area and the plants. Highly recommend to anybody. The lunch at the end was incredible!
