Our family had an amazing time learning about the history and cultural significance of the food systems and waterways at Waipā,. Our host, Emma and Jasmine engaged our two boys throughout the tour with stories about land and answering their endless questions. The food was delicious and capped off the experience! We did this tour at the beginning of our trip to Kauai and it truly shaped the perspectives and knowledge we carried forward throughout our trip. Thank you to the team at Waipa Foundation!
We just got back from Hawaii, and I had to share -- what a great tour we had at Waipa. It was the highlight of our trip!! Kelsey was a terrific tour guide, teaching us about native and non-native plants as well as traditional farming practices on the island. We got taste all sort of fruits and see the kids from the adjacent youth program working in the taro fields. Our two kids (age 8 and 10) had a great time on the tour. I can't recommend this Waipa enough if you're visiting Kauai.
The tour is such a great way to learn more about Hawaiian culture. I highly recommend visiting Waipa and supporting all the work they are doing!
We had such a spectacular farm tour at Waipa! Our guides were welcoming, entertaining, and incredibly knowledgeable. We got to try many kinds of food from the land, all of which were delicious. The farm tour was an incredible opportunity to connect with the local culture, history, and land while enjoying a visit to Hanalei. 10/10 recommend!
