Seriously considering closing my account because of the wait times on the phone. I've been trying for two days now! Call the local number and it's "sorry we cannot take your call now". Call the 800 number and they predict a 10 to 20 min wait, 90 mins later they still haven't called me back. What a system! I'm just trying to update my CD and they give you ten days to do it but I've spent two days on the phone trying to talk to someone! Preposterous really.
What a difference it makes going to a different branch of the same bank. Supposedly, they operate under the same company policies, but the results can be strikingly different. However, I discovered that the personnel at WdFa Toluca Lake, Burbank office have a deeper understanding and could process my request in opening a new CD with minimum of formalities unlike at WaFd Encino whose lack of deep procedural knowledge of their WdFd policies led them to deny me access.
