When Vroman's Bookstore began to expand on Colorado Boulevard, the owners decided to start a different type of store. One of the nicer gift stores in Pasadena, the store also features large floor lamps and elegant chairs. Attractive globes mounted on elegant stands dot the store; handsome stationery adorned with paintings by famous artists are reasonably priced. A number of art and craft events take place here.

Great to see that this large, indie bookstore is still around. I participated in an author event here, and the staff was wonderful and so accommodating. An ample selection of great reads here, and if you can't find it on the shelves, they'll be happy to order it for you!
Incredible, large independent bookstore. Storytime for kids in the children's department. Also nice selection of gifts.
This is not a well kept secret, since everyone in Pasadena knows about Vroman's, but in case you're from out of town and looking for a great bookstore, this is it. Huge selection with helpful and knowledgable staff, the only problem will be making up your mind on a book. The children's section is particularly impressive. They also have free gift wrapping and play host to all the celebrity writers that come through town on book signing tours.
