Working at Volvo Penta was quite an experience. The leadership is male dominant and the jokes/innuendos are very sexist. Women are shown little to no respect (one of the reasons I left) and opportunities to excel are only offered to males. I was shocked they have the audacity to say they pride themselves on diversity, when that is so far from the truth.
Still waiting on a response from Volvo Penta on Warranty claims. I even emailed them directly to follow up. This has been going on for over 3+ months now. They even had a tech leave and forgot to transfer the ticket..... Boat is barely 1 year old. Boat is corroding on the outdrive. It's stored on a trailer and never left overnight in saltwater/brackish. The Anodes are good... The dealer has run through all their steps and we aren't getting anywhere. Volvo Penta doesn’t stand behind their products. Had a driveshaft failure on my IPS600 (by the way don’t ever buy a boat with IPS). Had a dealer repair it, within a few hours of running at speed it failed again. The dealer said the part failed and that the repair would be covered under warranty including the cost the haul the boat and to save the receipt for reimbursement. It’s been 1 1/2 years and the dealer not Volvo has reimbursed me for $1630 even though I have made repeated calls to both the dealer and Volvo Penta. This... read more
