Update: once again they (younger man) exceeded my expectations by replacing the back of my favourite 15 year old dress with a gorgeous tie detail so it fits comfortably again. Had my wool pants with lining hemmed and turned out great. They were able to add adjustable straps to my strapless dress too and I’m pleased. Affordable; paid $10 each and one week wait.
They did an amazing job with my bridal shower dress! When I bought the dress it was not made correctly, looked terrible and there wasn't enough time to send it back. I brought it in and they worked their magic! They were able to fix the bodest, remove the boning, fix the slit and length of the dress in just a few days! Its a whole new dress. Very thankful 🙏 highly recommend them!
This is my first time writing a negative review, but it felt important to share with others. We had previously had garments worked on at Vlastas but will never return again after this vile experience. We went to get my sister’s maid of honour dress altered (hemmed at the bottom, and tightened at the top). However, when my sister picked it up, the work was terribly done. Vlasta’s is in the basement of the second building from the southwest corner of Upper James and Fennel. This lady is THE BEST you could ever hope for if you were considering alterations of any kind or if you wanted bridal dresses made……. I have been dealing with her for years and cannot say enough good things about her or her business. Definitely a five star!!!
Horrible customer service. Rude. And poor quality work. Do not go. Her place is a mess and disorganized. Just a waste of time. Save your money and dignity.
