On 11/29, my daughter’s aftercare program called me to tell me that my daughter’s elementary school refused to release her because someone “texted” in a change. This was not authorized by me. They called because something seemed suspicious. I tried to get ahold of the school and no one answered. I called the VBPS administration and let them know what was going on and was met with an apathetic response. Finally, 25 minutes later, my daughter’s school called. Reading the reviews where parents don't feel like the school cares is disheartening. An apathetic administration means low emotional intelligence and it wouldn't surprise me if this toxic trait was rampant. Leadership demonstrates organization culture- it instructs others on how to behave, what's appropriate and what isn't. The type of negligence I read about a parent losing a child and being told she was lucky is horrendous. Hopefully the school board addresses this issue or cleans up the problem people.
