My partner and I went to vintage marketplace today, as we have in the past on many occasions. As we were checking out, the cashier told me my total was $19.52 on a $18.00 item. I then tapped my card, and the card reader (which was facing the cashier instead of the customer) asked for a tip. We have been coming to Vintage Marketplace for years, but unfortunately, after our experience today, we will not be returning. While checking out, the employee verbally quoted us our total, including tax. We then noticed her select the tip option herself before handing the card reader over for me to tap my card. The final amount charged was higher than the total she had just quoted us because of the tip she selected without our knowledge or permission. Would leave zero star if possible, very rude woman working, no welcome no thank you for shopping, asked if any dealer discounts, she said we don’t do that, most shops will at least offer 10%. She said their shop was different,, wouldn’t recommend.
