Walked in here with my sister to shop as we were making a day of shopping since it was raining. As soon as we walked in, the lady at the counter wanted us to put our purses in a locker before shopping. We were immediately uncomfortable with this and decided to find somewhere else to shop.
I love absolutely love coming to Vintage Marketplace, there is always fun stuff to look at & the shop is always filled with beautiful things that have so much character. The owner is always so kind and inviting! She has so much great info on the Bellamy family, I really enjoy talking to her. To the people with the negative reviews regarding the bag situation I’m not sure why it’s an issue, it frees up my hands so i can look at things better and i don’t have to worry about knocking things with it! Lady met me at the door to tell me I needed to lock my purse in the car or in one of her lockers so I wouldn’t break anything. I left without exploring the store. I had a small purse and it was unnecessary. We’ve shopped antiques all over NC and 12 other states. This was a first. No thank you.
I absolutely loved visiting Vintage Marketplace this past January. It was my first time in Wilmington and I wanted to check out a couple of vintage shops. This was by far my favourite stop. I have been trying to build my vintage christmas ornament collection. My goal is to have enough vintage ornaments to completely fill my tree. Pulling up local online antique stores to patronize and after reading the owner’s responses to these customers was very off putting. I appreciate the other reviewers taking the time to comment on their experience. A business owner that reacts so catty and tries to chastise customers in reviews is a red flag for me. This shop is definitely one I will skip. I think the owner is the one that needs the “best of luck” and needs a refresher on good ole fashioned customer service skills. Yikes!
