They nursed my Aunt back to a standard of health where she managed to regain some dignity and made the last few months of her life the best she'd had for years. The care and communication was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Awful place. My 90 year old mother was in Victoria House for 16 months before being move to a hospice. The care started off ok but towards the end was awful. There are a couple of good carers, but most are medocre at best. I would not recommend at all.
A while ago, my father was moved to the Victoria house. Initially, things were going well until the winter season arrived. I was filled with regret about the placement. Heating seemed to be scarce throughout the winter. It seemed that the residents' primary heat source was the use of blankets, with heating as a backup when it was functional. Went to visit my Gran today. The carers was lovely and she was happy which was great. Its such comfort to know she's being look after.
My Dad , Robert Hemingway was in Victoria House from April to December last year. The standard of care that Dad received was absolutely outstanding. All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would say that Victoria House is a 4 star building that delivers 6 star care and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff there.
