It was early in the season, so spotting bears was questionable. All the other flight companies cancelled their flights, but not Vertigo. Jay did warn us that we may not see bears, but he agreed to do the tour for us. We spotted 3 bears, Otters, seals, and several bird species. The weather was clear and the views were spectacular. We landed twice, once to view the bears, and once to have lunch on the beach. Jay's commentary on the flight, the land, and the animals was very informative. Vertigo air is very warm and personal we live out on Afognak Island aka danger bay so we charter with them often not only are they the most affordable they're staff is really kind and helpful the pilots are very experienced we cam in to the doctor on day when the weather was ever changing and willam got us in and out very safely hell of a bush pilot we will continue to fly with Jay and his team they're more like family nowadays

We absolutely loved our bear viewing trip with Jay. Jay was a fantastic and experienced pilot. Throughout the flight, he shared interesting facts about the island and its wildlife. He also kept the atmosphere light and kept us entertained with fun anecdotes about his time flying on the island. We took off from the floatplane basin on Near Island and after about 45 minutes of flying over the most stunning landscape (endless carpet of emerald green below us, snow capped mountains, glacial lakes <3) we landed near Frazier Lake.... read more
