I was attempting to get information from the front desk about what the process is to get a citation dismissed, and the passive aggressive responses left me feeling uneasy. I had originally spoken to the officer that gave me a citation, then I got told to call the courthouse, then the courthouse gave me the DA’s number just for me to finally get told that I have to appear in court regardless to explain my situation there.
Updating this review: Our family member passed away from the brain damage he sustained as a result of his assault. We have still received no help from the DA’s office. The victim support advocate Ray Ortiz is also a joke to say the least, with no care at all for victims families. We turned to the District Attorney’s office for help under very terrible circumstances. A family member was the victim of violent assault. After months of back and forth, the ADA Heath Dillon chose not to press charges against the suspect, even with firsthand witness statements and statements from the suspect himself. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. Our family member is on hospice care from brain damage as a result of his assault. DA Heath Dillon is on the wrong side of the law and was no help at all.
