We have used both the Self-Paced History classes and Omnibus for the past 12 years. These classes are engaging and solid and challenge students to think critically. We come back year after year!
My 6 & 9 year olds worked on the Explorers through 1815 self-paced course and absolutely loved it! They learned A TON! However, we aren't going to be continuing with Veritas Press because it required 9 months of DAILY lessons every single week, and that's just way too much history that didn't leave time for us to supplement with any other sort of resources, or other subjects for that matter. Our family has completed the three self-paced Bible courses, all of the self paced elementary history courses and tried part of one of the omnibus courses so far. We are thrilled with the content. I do recommend completing the reading that is assigned with each of the history courses, and for upper elementary, you may want to start adding a few short answer questions to the tests, as the format of the course tests are multiple choice. We absolutely love our Veritas Press Self-Paced Courses! We have completed 11 courses (Bible, History, Omnibus) over the last six years. We've found every class to be interesting and academically challenging. Additionally, each class has challenged my child to think critically. leaving them inspired to live out a Biblical Worldview.
