I get that taxes can be frustrating, but EVERY time I call the USTC, I talk to someone who is actually very helpful in helping me find the answers I need (usually business related).
While taxes are sometimes a difficult process. I found that one person who genuinely wants to help can make a process much more bearable. I am happy to say that while still frustrated with the process and red tape at least I'm being treated respectfully by an employee who wants to truly help.
The state gets 4 stars for helping new companies through the formation process. The process was quick, consolidated and very easy. It's been the easiest I've dealt with, and UT is the 8th state I've formed a business in. After the company is formed is when things get dicey. I called 9 different people to get a PIN that I was told would be mailed to me upon registration of my company. 6 weeks later I'm having to call and obtain a PIN to take care of withholding and Sale & Use tax.
