I’ve been coming to the opera festival for several years. It is a highlight for me. I especially like the information sharing an hour before the performance.
Good shows, but surprisingly unfriendly to disability.
This review specifically refers to the production of Oliver! that I saw tonight. The musical performances were exceptional, and even the children sang well. Much of the dancing also was excellent. Staging made good use of simple props to provide scene definition and to simplify scene changes. I didn’t give five stars and considered only three because the director had the players who were part of the lower class speak with heavy and unnatural accents that rendered the dialogue nearly incomprehensible.
