On the recommendation of some wonderfully quirky locals that are dear friends of mine, we finally got the chance to stop in. It was just as wonderfully strange as advertised. From witchy items to preserved animal specimens, as well as all the delightful pins, books, patches, and stickers that make up any good oddities shop, this place has it all! Unorthodox is such a fun and quirky spot on Barret Ave with a fantastic vibe. It is incredibly LGBT friendly and well worth checking out. They have a great collection of oddities and weird stuff to browse through. I do wish they had a bit more in the way of actual physical oddities on the shelves; things like more uranium glass, taxidermy, pinned bugs, or vintage medical gear, but even though it leans about 80% more toward unique books, games, novel little souvenirs, patches, stickers, and postcards, it’s still an absolute b... read more
