I am a longtime member of UMCU - around 25 years since an undergrad at UM. Unfortunately, based on other reviews, there seems to be a recurring theme with this bank. The staff has never been particularly enjoyable to work with – asking odd prying questions for information that they have no business asking about and making unprofessional remarks regarding larger transaction amounts. I have been a member for 12 years and I went in to withdrawal a large amount of cash to help pay for things around the house and they REFUSED to give me cash and demanded that I provide a contract for services to be paid to give me MY money. I even called the day before to let them know I needed to withdraw it and they said no problem. I went to the Jackson Ave branch and the manager flat out refused to give me MY cash without a contract to prove what I was using MY money for. Service was prompt and most professional.
Alex was so helpful, friendly and personable! I forgot my wallet and she was able to go through the id process with me so I could still make my cash withdrawal. So happy you’ve got such great staff at my home branch!
