It is when you are seeking hope, help, and asisstance, and instead, after 20 hrs of waiting, the doctor comes in to tell you "it is not going anywhere, it is gonaa get worse, sorry but I cant fix that" with this tone of not only letting you out, but also letting you down. I am writing to formally complain about my experience at the University of Alberta Hospital Emergency Department in Edmonton this morning, August 23, 2026. The waiting time has been extremely long, which was already very difficult. However, what made the experience worse was the way I was treated by one of the morning nurses. 13.5 hours and counting waiting to see someone after my wife stopped breathing multiple times. Absolutely ridiculous triage and concern. They even tried to say we had waited 1.5 hours less which in itself is dismissive. Our medical system is broken beyond!
Very disappointing experience. The level of care and communication was not what I expected from a hospital. healthcare workers are terrible, very rude especially on 3 rd floor unit F4 patient has to be put in a corner of the hallway, no room after surgery was done ,not even a place to put our belongings, they were placed on floor this was a very frustrating , The service was disappointing When someone goes to the hospital, they are already worried and stressed.
