This is the sixth (seventh?) time I've used University Movers since 1993. I originally called them in 1993 because they were a local, family-owned business. Every time I use their services Vicki, Fred, and Talon have been responsive and up-front about schedules, costs, timing, etc. During my most recent moving extravaganza, I hired University Movers to pack up all of my possessions in my DeKalb, IL house. This is my second move with University Movers. My brother and mother have also used them. We all have had a great experience with them. Their moving guys know how to wrap, pack and load safely. They did a great job. They also had the best pricing. I've already recommended them to people.
My niece used them 11 yrs ago and i used them 8 yrs ago you cant beat the price or the professionalism they are great people to work with honest very caring with your stuff. Nothing got broken. Everything was intact and they don’t lollygag they come they start they work so you’re not paying for them to move in a slow pace. They move quickly can’t say enough about them. I never write reviews, but 5 stars to Vicki, Talon, and Nick for moving me in the worst (actually dangerous) of moving conditions and the worst of weather. Vicki actually answers the phone directly, which you don't get much in 2026. She told me they're coming rain or shine, whatever conditions. As predicted, I moved in the depths of a long cold spell on a 5° day, on steep hill with a broken down steep concrete staircase.
