I'm retired Army Staff Sergeant. 20 years. Heard a lot about this Fort and the Disciplinary part for those who really messed up in the Army. In the 90s I drove 18 wheelers. By or near this Fort. Wasn't aware of where it was. Have gotten truck loads from All around Kansas City. Colin Pal was stationed here in his book.
Came back from Nam & was the company clerk for 54th Military Police at Fort Ord, CA. I was doing drugs & decided to go AWOL & try to escape to Canada! I was a celebrity at Fort Ord's base jail because I was the one that handled all the unit's personnel issue now I'm locked up. Long story short was transfered after sentencing to Disciplany Barracks at Leavenworth-the old Leavenworth before the rebuilt new one. I taught High School GED and was on newspaper staff!! Never been there but being locked 🔐 up there now that's a whole different kinda prison. GOD BLESS THOSE NAUGHTY BOYS
