I believe that Dave Underwood kept me in the dark about the status of my patent application so he could do unnecessary work that he billed me $520 for and that I paid in full. Here's the story and the facts. Dave helped me with the claims on my pro se application and got it approved. Satisfactory work by Dave, deadline met. The prosecution stage is over and a "notice of allowance and Fee(s) due" document was issued on 2/27/26. My application had 2 drawings that were pictures. I used Underwood & Associates for my first design patent and couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. From start to finish Dave was a pleasure to work with. So much that I wish he did trademarks as well. I used a different firm for my trademark and they were fine, but weren't nearly as communicative, transparent, helpful or efficient as Dave from Underwood and Associates. Dave Underwood is a fantastic patent attorney, and I wouldn't work with anybody else. I rarely see the quality of work that he is capable of, and would recommend Underwood & Associates to anybody that is investing in their intellectual property.
