I have been a Umpqua Bank customer for over 10 years. It’s a great bank with great terms. I’ve had no issues—until now. I submitted a HELOC application with Tina Ruff, the branch manager, on June 17th. As of today, July 1st, I still have not received any update on whether my application is approved, if more documents are needed, or anything at all. Absolutely no communication. I've had accounts at Umpqua (formerly Sterling I think) for many years for my business and personal and in general had a good experience with things... but in the last year since they've closed the branch office I used to go to, the level of service seems off. I recently had an issue and was told that my accounts were managed by a Seattle branch instead of my local branch which resulted in poor communication because I am not in Seattle, and the Seattle branch did not do anything except try to bother me about credit card proc... read more
