January had good ideas about the pillow project I brought to him. It was using a piece of crewel work my mom stitched over 50 years ago. Making a pillow with the crewel work was an important way for me to remember and honor my mom. January "got" the significance of the piece and graciously indulged me in telling him about its history. Umphred just reupholstered our old but very sturdy sofa. What a success! January was endlessly patient and attentive as we changed our minds and cycled through different color families. We think the result is beautiful, and the job was completed in less time than expected. We will enthusiastically recommend Umphred to anyone looking for upholstery services.
Let me just say that I'm tempted to buy more furniture just so Umphred can work on it. Umphred recently reupholstered my dream couch and ottoman--and they made them even better than new! Their work is exceptional; how they deal with customers even more so. The upholsterer didn't like the way the cushions initially turned out--and invited me to check them out and discuss what I liked. Umphred furniture recently upholstered and replaced webbing on two chairs - precious (to me!) old chairs from my parents. Beautiful and careful work.
