A warning to all UCSB students and parents. If I could give zero stars, I would. Dealing with this department has been one of the most stressful and maddening experiences of my student life. I have a valid, paid-for permit, yet I've had to fight 8 tickets in a matter of weeks. The incompetence is staggering. I received a ticket the day after I bought my permit. LATEST UPDATE: The DMV's head manager said "I have a friend at UCSB who manages the parking department" to the whole crowd in a state conference. This is probably not the best news... While they have better ways to manage parking and transportation, like proper warning or reminder signs for students, they chose the most "profitable" way instead. Evil and conniving. I truly don’t know how the people who work for TPS at UCSB live with themselves. I don’t believe in hell but they’re all going to the deepest darkest depths of it. I’ve truly never hated anything more than this “service.”
Prioritization of revenue over accessibility! Instead of having to serve the campus community fairly, they would rather hurt the student that's paying tuition mind you, then to enforce equatable policies. Mind you, most of the alleged "violations" are nothing more then permits expiring in less then 5 minutes. We deserve fair, transparent, and student and faculty first transportation policies. Not institutional extortion.
