Grant was great! I have been flying my mini for a few years now but was a little on the fence whether I could study enough to pass the Flight Review the first try - so I decided to go with the training/review bundle. I came fairly prepared but still learned lots from Grant and the tools he uses rather than using all of my own methods. It totally took all of the pressure away and allowed me to actually learn and become a more confident pilot, especially the background side of things.

Grant is amazing and a natural teacher! I attended the in-person advance class on September 6th and 7th, and I was able to complete my flight review the following Friday. He was incredibly informative. Even though I don’t need it right now, I’m planning to come back in the new year for the Level 1 Complex class and flight review just to say I’ve got it!

I was probably Grant's most annoying customers and he handled it with grace and professionalism. I asked a lot of questions on a thread with him since May/25 and then decided to do my flight review in Sept/25 after a difficult scheduling availability (mostly my fault). Likewise, I asked a lot of questions of my examiner Gerrit, who once again, handled my inquiries prior to examination with a utmost level of respect and taught me valuable lessons for safe flying; no holds barred. I booked the flight training and flight review package with a drone rental through UAVertical. I initially reached out via email to ask about scheduling, Grant was very responsive and flexible. I did the flight training and review with Gerrit, which was a great experience. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor and assessor, the whole event was a great experience from start to finish. I would recommend UAVertical for anyone looking for training, assessments or UAV services.
