I could not hire a horse float between Townsville and Cairns. Initially I was told I could not get a one way hire, once I agreed it took 20 minutes to inform me there were no floats available within 300 km of Townsville or Cairns... So I had to buy a secondhand one to transport my newly acquired green 10 yo stockhorse stallion. Which I did not want to truck for fear of injury or undue stress if the truck would not stop for him to calm.
