This is the really good stuff that would take years... ... of thrift shopping or garage sale scrounging to find. Be prepared to face your "I want that" inner shopping voice. The store brings in a revolving cast of of really cool stuff. Lots of it. And it's on what is probably the hippest corner in Berkeley-- spitting distance from Sea Salt and Trieste.
Vastly overpriced This place is a big disappointment. It looks really cool from the outside and is located in an area of Berkeley that is finally getting some good stuff (but still doesn't have much else in the way of vintage clothing/accessory stores). When you get into the store, the stuff isn't all that great, and the prices are at least twice what they should be. Everybody knows that vintage stuff is expensive, but this place is outrageous. Vintage Clothes, West Berkeley Vibe This ain't no Mars Mercantile where garage sale gear goes for big bucks and you might get some serious 'tude from a dude in a Members Only jacket who was born in the 80s. Twisters Vintage is a bright orange store on San Pablo Ave owned by a woman who really cares about the clothes and the customers. Mostly women's stuff, but usually a good skinny tie selection for the gents. Drop by Twisters. Ridiculous prices, nice merchandise This is one of those East Bay "vintage" stores where they sell junk from the 50s for outrageous prices. While it is really fun to browse, I am not in a position to pay $50 for semi-beat-up shoes. They have great stuff, though, and lots of it. I have never bought anything from Twisters, but the fun displays and nice staff keep me coming back to see if one day they will have that perfect dress on the bargain rack.
