We tried to use Louis for a home loan. He dropped the ball on many occasions. Two days before closing he sent an email that the bank would require a larger down payment ($15k more). They said this was due to the insurance premium on the home. That insurance premium was sent to the bank two weeks prior so should not have been a surprise. The lack of service was very disappointing as I had used Trustco in the past for a loan and had a great experience.

Always positive experience. Glad this bank didn’t fall into the same shenanigans as some of the others and lend money to people unqualified. They stuck to their morals and sound lending policies and didn’t need bail outs. Great bank and branch. I TRUST this bank.
Please do not have transactions with this bank! This bank will charge fees that the bank will not charge and will consume your valuable time!
If you have any other option for a bank, AVOID TRUSTCO. They are always behind on posting transactions, and they will literally avoid posting your deposits until a day or two later just to rack up overdraft fees on you. Terrible customer service who absolutely are able to help if they wanted to, but generally refuse and provide inconsistent "excuses" in order to avoid taking accountability. Do not get an account with TrustCo.
