I found myself coming here amidst the worst suicidal episode I've had in my life. The staff I met during the intake process were very supportive and accommodating to my situation, and with only the clothes on my body, I went into their housing program. The house itself was a literal house, and no part of my experience here felt like an institution. I enjoyed my time there even if it is boring without a phone (only for the first 7 days). I understand there may have been some confusion at the beginning, and I was patient with that. I completed all the necessary paperwork so I could sit in with my dad, who has been dealing with significant anxiety due to recent events but it's fine got that cleared up, anyway got that out of way but then I guess that probably sparked some attitude and maybe aggression but anyway unfortunately, this was one of the worst first-time therapy experiences I’ve ever had. Finding a program that treats both adults AND adolescents under one roof was huge for our family. True Life Care mental health IOP is the real deal - evidenced-based l, compassionate staff, and an environment that actually feels safe. My teenager came out of there with real tools, not just a certification of completion.
