I really wish I had read the reviews before hiring Troy and spending $1500. I ended up doing most of the work myself — from writing and filing the petition to drafting emails to the opposing party, which he simply forwarded. Every time I asked him a simple question, it took him weeks to respond. He was consistently hard to get a hold of, and communication was frustratingly slow. Troy is an amazing person. He is a fighter!
I invested my time talking about legal serves with him, then when I was ready to take action, he disappeared. I called multiple times and sent a few emails, and he never responded leaving me hanging. Very unprofessional. Looking at other reviews that seems to be his behavior. He seems to be unreliable. Update to my first post. I see Troy responded by blaming me which appears to be totally untrue. I'm a lawyer, I've known Troy for decades and the poor reviews here are obviously from unqualified sources. Troy is a great lawyer, I only found these bad reviews as I was trying to refer someone to him. Hire Troy with confidence, I would.
We retained Troy Nelson to help us fight for our home..what a joke! He never followed through and got us into a worse mess than what we had retained him for! We reported him to the Bar Association and retained an attorney to go after him for malpractice..lack of representation and taking our money and doing NOTHING with it! Do not hire this man! Best of luck to you if he's your attorney..go elsewhere!!!
