I’m in two minds with this company. We had arranged to collect a car on the first day of our holiday. We caught a mini bus into the town to get it and the store was closed, even though it was during opening hours Called the number and they gave no reason for them not being there, only said that we need to come back the next day.. we paid $24 to get a taxi in to be told no then have to pay for another taxi back. They took a booking through website and when we came they said they are closed. Ruined a day. Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT RENT/ HIRE A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. I rented a car at this place in June 2025. The women who worked at the store front shop was lovely to deal with. The cars are parked in an outdoor lot behind the building. I was given a set of keys and told where to find my car. The car was parked under a tree and covered in bird droppings which I found quite amusing so I took a picture of it. The inside of the car was also vey dirty and had not been cleaned. It took a few seconds of initial interaction before we knew TNCR was the rental car company we would use during our stay in Port Douglas. Tom is the ideal person to represent a tourist industry: he was informative, helpful, consistent, funny, and caring.
