I now work full time with this Horizon. I have seen this hospital shift and shape into an amazing place to work and get care. I left another job of 6 years to be here as much as I’m allowed! Every nurse is so swilling to smile and be helpful and you can tell they really care. Even the administration will help and say hello or even answer a call light. I’ve never worked for a company that made me feel so appreciated! I love my job and love coming to work!
They sent my mother home with 5 BROKEN RIBS and told her she only had one. Then a real doctor called her two days later to inform her and give her the medicine she needed. They sent one of my friends home with a "pulled muscle " after looking at his xrays, and the next morning a real doctor came and looked at them and called and had him rushed to Vanderbilt because he had a partially collapsed lung. Nobody there knows what they're doing and I'm really confused as to how any of them got a damn job.
Came in on Ambulance. First two nurses were rude and uncaring. Here I broke every bone connecting my foot to my ankle. They didn't offer me a blanket or anything (not even the nurse call button) left door standing wide open. Did xrays where I laid. The only male nurse I seen got me a blanket. It was like they were doing me a favor just being there. It's just a terrible hospital. Now next day went to St. Thomas, that was the exact polar opposite! St. Thomas ROCKS! Along with all the nurses and Dr. W. Blake Garside jr.
Improvements in place still needs improvement. It’s never fun when your loved one is sick or in jeopardy health wise, to throw discourteous or unfriendly folks dealing with your loved one is not ok. Health professionals for the most part have a thankless profession and often deal with things at a moment in our lives that have great impact potential. The receptionist in the office of dr Hawkins and steidl is very rude. I know a lot of girls who will not go back to their obgyns because of her. I have to have my mirena pulled out because it’s puncturing my uterus wall and I told her I had a ct done to prove it, I just went to the er over it in waverly the other night and instead of helping me she gave me the hardest time and said Hawkins couldn’t see me anytime soon and told me I couldn’t see her anyways. Dr. Strane was awesome! Took care of my son like he was his top priority. Will, the Nurse was just as awesome. We were kept updated on the plan of action and were checked on multiple times.
