I have gone to Dr. Laura Parkinson for the past 5 years. I first sought her help because I was dealing with pancreatic disease and wasn't getting any relief from my medical provider. Dr. Parkinson has been a tremendous resource for me and, more recently, has helped me with menopausal issues--frozen shoulder, sleep, mood swings, hot flashes, etc. In addition to being a skilled acupuncturist, she is very empathetic and non-judgmental. I highly recommend her!

I started acupuncture treatments with Dr. Laura in Jan 2025. On my first visit, Dr. Laura conducted a thorough questioning so that we could create a treatment plan that addressed my concerns. I was having debilitating migraines and within a short time of treatments (as well as following other at home suggestions from Dr. Laura), my migraines went from 2 per month to barely 1or 2 in the last 8 months. I recommend stopping by and trying out Ankeny Acupuncture for your holistic wellness. 10/10 recommend

I have seen Laura for a few years. She is a great listener and wants to address your health concerns. She has helped me with digestive issues, dehydration, energy level, ringing in my ears and anything I may bring to her. Giving Laura a try will be a wonderful benefit to your overall wellbeing.

After exploring options in both chiropractics and physical therapy, Dr. Laura was able to provide significant relief of a shoulder issue I had experienced for 6+ months within two acupuncture sessions. I've received additional treatments for more minor issues since, with lasting results every time.

I would highly recommend Laura as an acupuncturist practitioner that is highly skilled and is very thorough with truly understanding your needs in order to develop a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to you as an individual. She is the best and consider adding on cupping to your session!
