If you have a fat wallet and you like the best gear money can buy, this is your huckleberry- it’s got the best of everything, titanium snowpeak cooking gear as far as the eye can see- fly fishing gear prince charles would be glad to use . But- if you’re looking for a Temu chair at rock bottom prices- not your jam. This joint is the definition of buy once, cry once- a wish list place with friendly staff, good fishing spots and bloody good YouTube videos.
I bought a copy of Klaus Hueneke’s classic, Huts of the high country, only to find a copy already lurking in my bookshelves. Tom’s Outdoors were really good about providing a refund - even when it was 100% my mistake. I have no hesitation in buying from them again. Like all fly fishermen and women, they are good people.
Another great day out on the Tumut River with Toms Outdoors. Dan our guide helped get us onto some fish, offered good advice while rowing and keeping an eye on our strike indicators and still found time for plenty of laughs. No better way to spend a day chasing trout. Having a bricks and mortar store as a base is a bonus as they stock all you need for fishing or hiking and know the Snowies like the back of their hands. Have already booked our next drift
