My meeting with Darla Torrez left me feeling major blah and feeling deceived. She showed up to our appointment without all her equipment to take vitals. She was friendly enough, but felt compelled to talk politics most of the time, which made me uncomfortable. I ended the appointment feeling stressed out and with a bad vibe that she wouldn’t be able to handle my pregnancy and delivery needs. She told me that her philosiphy was to stand back and leave me alone to labor. I wanted at least a little support from someone deliveri... read more

I thought of staying silent, but after thinking deeply I feel compelled to warn others about this so called "midwife" who left mental scars on the entire family. How long will those scars last? A lot longer than the bloody rags and needles we found in their home after driving 110 miles to help with the disaster. D Torrez must have hated my daughter, I can only surmise, after looking at the nightmare she left in her wake. My brother used Darla M. Torrez as a midwife for his homebirth and it was horrible, to say the least. He called me in hysterics crying when Darla allowed his wife to faint and hit her head on their wood floor, from her lack of care. She then left him with the new born and disappeared after following his wife to the hospital. My husband and I had to come assist my brother in taking the newborn to the hospital. Lucky nothing bad happened to the baby. DO NOT RECOMMEND! She also left syringes and bloody garbage around my brother... read more

Darla was the midwife for both of my births. She was absolutely the most comprehensive, caring and professional caregiver. While working with Darla in my first pregnancy and prenatal experience, it was clear that her work and her clients are her highest priority. I felt extremely safe as a young, first time mother. I experienced postpartum support unlike most of my friends have ever described experiencing with Darla. She is the whole package and our family will always recommend her as our midwife.

Darla delivered my first baby almost 9 years ago, and is delivering my last baby any day. She is thoughtful, conscientious, thorough and kind. She communicates clearly and to the point and gives you options without being pushy or bias. You can tell that she cares deeply about her clients and work and has dedicated her life to her community. She believes in the innate wisdom of a woman’s body and empowers you to feel the same. I love her like family and would recommend anyone looking for a positive homebirth experience to con... read more
