Very friendly and greet you by name .Like the old neighborhood banks.
TIAA Bank online Excellent online bank. Very good rates on deposit accounts, near the top. Easy to use website for transferring money to and from accounts in other banks. Rapid updates of account balance.
Haven't had any problems
Better interest rates than biggest banks, but top 5%?, read the fine print. Low balance requirements and ATM refunds very good. As others have commented, delays in some external transfers. Money out of TIAA usually 1 or 2 days, but money into your accounts, different story. Only preauthorized transfers from large companies 1 to 2 days, otherwise 3 to 5 days, even for cash deposits at selected non TIAA Bank ATMs, crazy.
