I opened a high interest savings account last November and at the time there was a $50k daily limit on out-going transfers. Sometime thereafter, they "temporarily" imposed a $2500 daily limit on out-going transfers. On March 4, 2025, they increased it to a whopping $5k daily transfer limit. I attempted to open an account online but was denied. When I called the number on the website to find out why I was denied, the person answering the phone did not know why I was denied, and said noone here would know. I then called their Clearwater, FL facility and asked the same question and got the same curt answer. I wrote a letter to the CEO of the bank and got a phone call from one of his representatives. EverBank recently closed my account, stating that my address could not be verified. However, EverBank had previously sent me debit cards to the address on record, which I activated without issue, so I’m unclear why the address is now considered unverified. Additionally, EverBank mentioned that my account was cashed out and that a check is being mailed to me, given that the address in question has been deemed unverified why would they do that. This situation is frustrating, and I am still awaiting the check
I have opened more than a dozen online HYSA. EverBank has to be one of the easiest opening account processes I have ever encountered. Being a Florida resident, and EverBank being Florida based, and offering one of the highest HYSA rates, I opted to open an account online.
