Very helpful and friendly, keep up the great work
After having the misfortune of taking a bike to Halfords in the past and getting quoted nearly two hundred pounds to have various parts replaced, I took it to Thurrock Cycle Centre for a second opinion and was fixed for a fraction of the cost. The mechanic will give you his honest opinion as he knows his stuff and won't try and replace things or carry out work that is really not necessary. As a keen cyclist, I've been using the shop for a couple of years now and certainly wouldn't go anywhere else!
I was scammed and lied to about the price of new equipment. Always check prices before agreeing to anything! The parts were worth around £40–£50, but I ended up paying double. The owner also tried to keep my old parts, which were actually worth more than the new ones he installed on my bicycle. I had to ask to get them back — in other shops, they always return old parts or at least ask first. No receipt was given either, which says a lot.
