Warning - this rental agency is an independent Thrifty franchise. In the event of any problems, neither Thrifty corporate, no Hertz (parent company) can offer any assistance. You are at the mercy of the local rental agents, or worse yet, the franchisee’s staff in South Carolina. Be very cautious when dealing with this particular Thrifty location.

Flew in to Asheville from Punta Gorda on Sunday, Sept. 28. Presented my name and confirmation number to the lady at the desk at Thrifty. After a few attempts to scan my drivers license, she typed in the FL DL number manually, then informed me that her system was not taking my DL. I asked her what I was supposed to do and she said I could take my license and "try to clean it". Really? I asked her, did she mean that she was not going to rent me the car I had booked and she said no. She was not, and that my FL DL was coming up ... read more

Great car, and excellent service. Needed to extend my trip by a day, but had lost my credit card during the trip itself. Thankfully, manager Leah was able to find a workaround.

I spent over an hour waiting in line to pick up car. Only one agent was there to process a long line of people.
