The car was not ready for the time I booked it and I was not the only one who had to wait. He said I would have to wait an hour. I returned after one hour only to have to wait another 25 minutes more because an irate couple was arguing with the one employee. I checked and none of the other car rental companies had cars. I would think that St. John's tourism center would want to know that visitors to the area are encountering this major problem.

Car isn't ready on time for pickup. Asked to wait 45 min for a car that was pre-booked for a specific time. Rented cars across Canada, US, and Europe. 3 times here in St. John's. Never had an issue. Until Thrifty... Magnificent.

Really poor customer service. It’s impossible to get a hold of someone via phone. I arrived just a few hours early and my car was not ready - but they did offer me an upgraded car for an extra $400 (+ taxes) on top of the already hefty rental sum. I had to leave the airport and come back to pick it up. Very inconvenient. They over-charged me and despite submitting my complaint online they have completely ignored my request. It is very difficult to get any sort of problem resolved when there is no way to reach them.
