Thrifty is owned by Hertz, but I rented through Thrifty. Here is what I have to say: Such a scam business model. They charged me $575 for a windshield chip, and it wasn't even me lol. I noticed it the moment I picked up the car. BE CAREFUL, please take pictures BEFORE leaving their parking lot. And do a walkaround of the car, note down any chips or scratches, and add these to their contracts BEFORE signing docs. Please provide a zero star option going forwards. Paid in full the rental using RBC rewards (now Avion). I get the supposed zero dollar bill at check out an it is $132 extra for 3 days. No issues. 100% filled tank that I wasted money on before returning and still got charged for it. I don't rent a lot but I will be renting 0.0% going forwards from Thrifty's. Read the fine print people, the WILL screw you. Good thing that are many other options - please use them! I know I will.

We rented a car from here, picked it up at the vancouver location to drop it off at the Calgary location, already the price was more expensive per day because of the multi-city drop off (which is understandable) but then when we picked it up they charged us an extra 75$ for the same reason we’re paying extra for. Overall, very frustrating and feels like we’re paying double for the same service. + they charged us 100$ to bring it back empty because «it cost 150$ to fill it up», in reality cost 65$ Fully scammed and took advan... read more
