I saw the 1.9 star rating before I decided to rent from Hertz/Thrifty, but because I needed to pick up a car at 1am, I had no other choice unless I wanted to pay a lot more money. So I took the risk and booked a reservation. The car pickup and dropoff were seamless, the car was great, and the employee answered all my questions. I wasn't hit with any hidden fees. So I'm going to give them 5 stars to help repair their rating because it seems like they fixed whatever the previous customers were upset about.
Awful don’t do it. They charged me a fee that was more than the rental itself. I did not agree to said “we provided the service” it was 31.99 a day. I called to dispute and was told the best they could do is a half refund in the credit. Been several days in which I did not receive said credit. Horrible the guy told me at the counter I was getting the personal liability insurance (said it was less than 10 per day) BUT I was charged me for 31.99 for the per day. Been renting with Avis / Budget for years, used Thrifty on a whim. Have since used two more times, excellent service and vehicle selection each time.
Thrifty of MSO is not where you want to rent a car. After correspondence with Thrifty of MSO, Thrifty customer support AND the BBB, Thrifty knowingly added fees to the online quote, and refuses to make things right. Their customer service is below the worst, and their greed as among the highest. Do yourself a favor and rent from another company, because their customer service is a burning pile of garbage that a dog used the bathroom on, and then threw it up. WARNING: The quoted estimate you will see on the website WILL BE about 3x LESS than what you’re actually charged. Thrifty will hide a bunch of fees so you will be paying more than their competitors, and you won’t even know it until the final charge. There is a reason they have such poor reviews, and they deserve every single one Never trust Hertz/Thrifty at MSO
