1st rental car was infested with cockroaches and we lost 2 hours of our day going back to switch out vehicles. 2nd rental broke down and we lost 5 hours of our last day of vacation and needed to ride in a tow truck to switch out vehicles. 3rd we picked up was nice and didn't have any issues but not cleaned prior to our usage (still sticky soda on seat)
Besides the fact that I couldn’t get ahold of anyone at the Hilo location due to the major flash flood storm yesterday/last night, the woman who assisted me with my rental on march 13 2026 was with dollar but they work together thrifty and dollar but she was awesome and thanks for the great customer service. I rate it and her 5 stars

I have used Thrifty Car Rental twice in Hilo Hawaii and I am highly satisfied with the customer service given me. I was happy both times with the automobiles assigned to me. I did not just feel like a number, but that the employees genuinely cared about my needs as a customer. I was very happy with the charge of the car rental also! The next time I visit Hilo, I will confidently use Thrifty Car Rental again.
