I am working in the role of daytime support worker in the main house at Thorndene. Due to being on a different timetable to the main staff, I work across all three teams and with all three team leaders. I find the current teams all a delight to work with. My co-workers are friendly and helpful. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE WORKED FOR, AN INCESTUOUS, NEPOTISTIC, MANAGEMENT. MYSELF AND MY COLLEAGUES WENT THROUGH HELL FOR 18 MONTHS! THERE SEEMS TO BE A CULTURE OF CONTROL BY FEAR BY THE MANAGEMENT. PETTY DISCIPLINARIES, OR BEING DISMISSED FOR RIDICULOUS REASONS AND STAFF WALKING OUT AS THEY FELT UNFAIRLY TREATED. My brother has lived at Thorndene since 1992 and has been so happy there. It is a wonderful place, with staff who really do care about what they do. He is always busy and involved with local activities and life at his home. I can't recommend it enough.

As a registered disabled person, I cannot comment highly enough on the quality and level of support provided by Thorndene. I was registered as disabled prior to seeking employment with Thorndene and as a company, the interview process and subsequent induction was of a very high quality that took into consideration my own personal needs.
