Big Timber is such a hidden gem, lovely downtown along I90. We stopped by for a short break on our road trip. Walked in to Thistle Creek Mercantile just right when the owner was setting up to open. I got an ice tea. Can’t remember what it is called but it is from local. The tea is good and refreshing. Got a chance to talk to the owner. She is amazing and very passionate about this little community. Her product in the shop is well-selected, simple but unique design. I can’t recommend it enough.
Beautiful little shop, had a great cup of coffee and even got to chat with one of the local photographers whose prints are on display and for sale. Will definitely be going back in the summer to enjoy the patio garden space!
This is one of the most unique boutiques that I’ve been in. When you approach the store you know it’s something special. A court yard with vines and greenery greets you. Inside are the kinds of gifts and personal items you often look for and seldom see. Beautiful bags. Alapaca blankets. Unusual pillows. Cremes and candles. Everything is hand chosen by the owner and epitomizes excellent taste. I could buy everything and I almost did!
Bliss! Was visiting Big Timber for three days so got to try three different kinds of their homemade pies-mixed berry, cherry, and lemon. All with big mugs of wonderful strong coffee (and I’m an entrenched Starbucks snob!). The patio is the most wonderful spot to eat/drink, people watch, and meet new friends.
