Physical Therapist Elizabeth Appel recognized I was experiencing a medical emergency when I arrived for our 9:00 A.M. appointment. Instead of beginning therapy she elected to take my Blood Pressure which was higher than normal. Elizabeth then checked the following: B.E.F.A.S.T. which stands for balance; eyesight; face drooping; arm weakness; speech difficulty; time to call 911. Mrs. Appel alerted the ER and her supervisor. This facility charges almost 8 times as other physical therapy places in the area. Even with insurance my coinsurance payments were so much more than a therapy place in Wappingers. They claim they charge that much because they are connected with the hospital.
