Custom Chairs I had Wooden Duck create some custom chairs for me. Over the years, my dining room set had become rather battered, and while the table still looked okay, the chairs were abysmal. (Knocked down by the children too many times, I think.) I had some very specific guidelines that I wanted them to follow, and they did to a T. If I didn't know better, I'd think they gave me the exact same set I bought fifteen years ago! I'm very impressed with their work, their attention to detail, and fantastic customer service!
Bad service and iffy quality - be careful Bought a beautiful French lacquered table, paid $70 for delivery and it arrived with an ugly split between two of the tabletop boards. The delivery company blamed WD, and WD blamed the delivery company. WD insisted that I pay $70 to have the delivery company swap out the table for an undamaged one! They in essence blamed me for the split, not their craftsmanship, making me pay for their mistake. A $1k table should survive a delivery, and if not, WD should make it right. My favorite place.... In a cookie cutter world of SKU #'s and mass produced furniture, the Wooden Duck stands out like a sore thumb. Every piece is a little different, every piece of wood has it's own story. If you hit it right, you'll be sad you don't have a bigger house to put all this wonderful stuff in.
Heavy Duty Teak Furniture The Wooden Duck is one of those bay-area institutions thats worth visiting even if you never thought of buying teak . This isnt the flimsy teak stuff you see at Cost-Plus World Market or Pier One - this is the real thing.
made from recycled wood The Wooden Duck is a cool furniture store because they make everything from recycled wood, very nice for the environmentally conscious (and those who like furniture with character/a story to tell!). They have a good selection of furniture, roughly half indoor and half patio furniture. Their designs generally have a sturdy, rustic feel.
