I thoroughly recommend The Wood Guys. I was looking for a wedding gift for my niece who is also my goddaughter. She was brought up in Hobart but now lives in Canberra so I wanted something special with a link to Tasmania. Quality which will last with a personal touch, not anything from a department store. Fantastic source of quality veneers. I sourced a beautiful piece of huon pine that they then got assembled into a machined washboard for my yacht and it how has pride of place. Helpful and knowledgeable staff always willing to assist plus a great selection of boards, slabs and veneers to boot
Well worth the visit. Great prices for quality general and specialist woodworking timbers
Extremely helpful and personable. We needed to replace a piece a piece of Tas myrtle timber, and they had a good ange of size sand choice. We felt the prices were very reasonable given timber needed to be cut, stored and dried for so many years before it was ready for use. Lots of pieces of Tas specialty timbers, great just to look around. Also a corner with a number of small finished items for sale.
