I never actually got to work with this clinic because they don't answer the phone or return calls, but I felt that was worth mentioning to the public that relies on honest reviews. I think I got a text about a year ago - kind of 'what is it you're looking for' - I responded and never heard back. Meanwhile, I went to a different wellness center on my own dime (private company that my insurance company doesn't work with). Pretty sure UPMC wouldn't have provided near the education or support I receive there.

As a patient who underwent bariatric surgery 15 years ago and who now lives with long-term deficits from a stroke, I identify as someone with a disability and complex medical needs. Because of that, empathy, patience, and clear communication from healthcare staff are incredibly important to me. Referral was sent in 9/10/25 and i had to wait months 1/14/26 to get an appointment. The day of my appointment i was 6 mins late due to dropping my child off at daycare. When i arrived i was informed that they had a 5 min grace period and that me being 5 mins late would not give the provider enough time to meet me with me per their new policy. I have been on track for gastric sleeve surgery here since the beginning of this year, and have received nothing but great care. The team at the front desk went the extra mile in helping me get all of my required pre-surgery appointments in. My dietician, Jim, has been incredibly supportive and helpful in guiding me towards healthier choices and habits to support my upcoming surgery.
