Both of my parents have been at the View for multiple years. My mom went first following emergency spinal surgery and resided in the Health Care Center for several months while she rehabbed back to being able to walk again. My father, who has been battling Parkinson's for over 10 years, joined her in the assisted living side of the property a few months later, and when my mom finished rehab, she joined him. I have visited well over 500 senior living communities as publisher of Positive Aging Sourcebook. The welcome that I received today when visiting The View Alexandria from Amete who was working at the front desk when I entered was one of the best! It is so important that the team members interacting with the public and the residents in a community are a welcoming to all. My uncle has been living at the View (formerly Hermitage) since 2019 in a pleasant one-bedroom apartment. He has been very happy with the community, level of care, food, facilities, and activities. This place may be smaller than average, so it feels more homey. It was an excellent choice for him. He’s made good friends, enjoyed the services provided, and had a good quality of life. He just celebrated his 100th birthday, and the View helped cater a party that made everyone feel good. The staff are professional and friendly.

Everyone here is so warm and caring I feel right at home at the Hermitage. Apartments are a good size & everything is nicely renovated. Not too much staff turnover. Highly recommend.
